Classical Learning Resource Center

The CLRC promotes excellent education by establishing an online space where students meet outstanding instructors in an educational community. We partner with homeschooling parents, public and private school teachers to provide an exceptional learning experience. We connect teachers who love their subject matter and love to teach with students whose natural curiosity and enthusiasm is like tinder waiting to alight.

“οὐ γὰρ ὡς ἀγγεῖον ὁ νοῦς ἀποπληρώσεως ἀλλ᾽ ὑπεκκαύματος μόνον ὥσπερ ὕλη δεῖται, ὁρμὴν ἐμποιοῦντος εὑρετικὴν καὶ ὄρεξιν ἐπὶ τὴν ἀλήθειαν.”

“For the mind is not a vessel that needs to be filled, but wood that needs only igniting to be motivated toward originality and yearning for the truth.”
Plutarch – Moralia

Some Year-Long Courses Accepting New Students in Spring Semester!

For those who are interested in a course you have not been attending this fall: Although most CLRC classes are full year courses, many are open to new students for the second semester.  Some require previous exposure to the concepts covered in the first semester.  Others may recommend that new students read some or all of the first semester’s material before joining the class. Please contact the teacher before registering so that he or she can work with you to ensure a smooth transition into the class.

All Classes Recorded!

STUDENTS: for instructions on accessing recordings for your class, CLICK HERE.

CLRC courses are live, interactive classes available to anyone with Internet access.  All classes are recorded and are easily accessible to enrolled students for review or to aid those who need to miss a class from time to time due to travel, sickness, or other obligations.  Class recordings capture everything that goes on in the live class — both audio and video components of the class, as well as all student questions and comments.  Thus CLRC courses provide both the dynamic and interactive advantages of live classes and the flexibility of recorded classes.
